Doritos Loaded

Doritos Loaded

As an industrial designer, I collaborated on the packaging design for 7 Eleven and Frito-Lay. On a new type of Doritos Snack a snack created for fast-paced, on-the-go consumers looking for a convenient and satisfying option. The primary goal was to develop a packaging solution that balanced portability, ease of consumption, and product protection, catering to users who need a quick, mess-free way to enjoy their snack while moving through their day.

The target user for Doritos Loaded is someone with a busy lifestyle—commuters, students, and professionals—who require a one-handed, hassle-free eating experience. Key design considerations included:

  • Ergonomic form factor for easy handling and consumption on the go.

  • Secure, heat-retaining packaging to maintain the ideal temperature and texture.

  • Mess-free access with an intuitive opening mechanism that allows users to grab and eat without with their hands or directly with their mouth.

  • Durability and portability, ensuring the package fits seamlessly into backpacks, or hands without compromising the product’s integrity.

By focusing on these elements, the final design provided a functional and intuitive experience, ensuring Doritos Loaded met the needs of modern, fast-moving consumers while maintaining the brand’s bold and dynamic identity.
